And our child is fine and happy too.) I will say that it is an interesting shift to be single after almost 20 years of marriage. I had forgotten the pleasures of bachelorhood. Of course as with all things, it has its pros and cons, but right now I'm loving life. The sense of "I don't need permission to do this - I don't have to compromise in order to have a pleasant time" is almost overwhelming in its freedom presently. I'm not advocating divorce, but I'm just noticing an unanticipated serendipity.
