The Backlog Check-in Vol. 382: 4/26/25: Forza Horizon 5 Edition
Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 382: 4/26/25: Forza Horizon 5 Edition
Finished: Nothing
Now Playing: Octopath Traveler II
Added to Backlog: Nothing
Current Backlog: 40 games
I am about 26 hours into Octopath Traveler II, have all 8 characters in my party, and I've completed 2 of their chapter 2s. I wish everyone could get experience after battle - this is an old school setup, and swapping characters constantly (having to go to the tavern to do this) is already annoying lol.

I'm having fun with LADG. It won't be among my favorite Yakuza games, but it's great to play (the gadget setup is a wonderful fast counterpart to normal Kaz combat) and it's filling in story beats. I'm in Chapter 4 now.

Last week: Finished nothing, played Blue Prince. SO MUCH BLUE PRINCE!
This week: Hopefully, I'll wrap up BP, but we'll see how it goes.
The credits rolled on Blue Prince, but that's not even sorta the end of the game. Most of the story still isn't revealed and a lot more opens up after you complete your main goal. The game is like an onion - a delicious onion. This is definitely a very strong GOTY contender.

That sounds really compelling. I love games that just keep giving, and especially when ultimate clarity is left to interpretation in the end. Those games just linger within me and often end up on my all-time goat list.argyle wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 10:23 am The credits rolled on Blue Prince, but that's not even sorta the end of the game. This game is absolutely amazing. It's extremely unique and just genius in design. I can't praise it enough, honestly.isthatallyougot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 12:22 pmThat sounds really compelling.
