The Backlog Check-in Vol. 363: 12/14/24: Alien: Rogue Incursion Edition
Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 363: 12/14/24: Alien: Rogue Incursion Edition
Finished: Nothing
Now Playing: Dragon Quest III Remake
Added to Backlog: Nothing
Current Backlog: 43 games
Still working on the post game stuff in DQ III - these new enemies are for sure a step up in difficulty and whatever first dungeon I'm in is very long.
I was able to catch up a little bit on announcements from The Game Awards, including Naughty Dog's new game, Project Century from the Yakuza devs, and The Witcher 4 (still have 3 to play, lol).

Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 363: 12/14/24: Alien: Rogue Incursion Edition
Games added: Fire Emblem Engage, Bayonetta Origins, Marsupilami, Bendy & the Dark Revival, Path of Exile II, Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Ed.
Last week: Finished nothing, played Nine Sols, Marsupilami, and the very beginning of Cyberpunk
This week: Same
Fire Emblem & Bayonetta were physical Switch deals I got from Best Buy. The rest were digital, all Xbox except for Cyberpunk. Technically I grabbed Bendy for Tam, but I plan on playing through those 2 games one of these days too so I guess it counts towards my backlog as well. Marsupilami has been on my wishlist for a while now and it went down to $2 last week. I'm loving it so far, so for $2 it was a steal. It's heavily inspired by the Donkey Kong Country games, except not as frustrating. Very well made & polished - recommended for anyone looking for a fun 2D sidescroller. I bought Cyberpunk from CD Keys, but honestly I don't care if the dev gets stiffed on that one a little bit. I foolishly bought the collector's edition of Cyberpunk at release, and we all know what a trainwreck that was, so I didn't feel like I owed them any more than the cost of the expansion (I had bought the game digitally for the Xbox originally, but wanted it for the PC this time so I could use mods).
Nine Sols is incredible, but I'll go into it more once I finish it, which shouldn't be long (or possibly I'll wait until my GOTY thread, which it will definitely be pretty high on).

Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 363: 12/14/24: Alien: Rogue Incursion Edition
I'm still playing Withering Rooms - up over 70 hours now. My first two endings were C and D apparently, with D being the true ending. But I never got the easier endings of A and B, and there are still some mysteries and other things I still want to explore. At this point though, I feel like I've almost completely exhausted the contents of this game...just about. It's been really fun, but I'm at that point where I feel like I've just about wrung every drop out of it. That's always a sign of a game you've enjoyed, but there is a bit of that empty feeling, knowing you've more or less exhausted everything. But it's also a satisfying feeling of "completion", I suppose. Maybe after the little bit left I have to play, I'll return to it one day and explore some other character builds.
It's almost Christmas fellers. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday.

Hey all, new game club coming next week!
Played: Hades. This stupid son of a such and such is gaslighting the hell out of me! He's insistent that after I ran roughshod and stomped a mudhole in that ass EIGHT times, none of it ever happened. This is just a telenovela at this point, I love it! I get drip feeds of story that keep making want to go and see what happens if I beat his stupid ass senseless again. I beat him once with each of the 6 weapons and that didn't roll credits. 8 times didn't do it. So now it HAS to be ten times being the charm. When you get back to it old man, it really is something special if you let it get its hooks in you.
Bought: Nothing
Beat: Nothing really...except Hades's ass 6 more times!
I am going to try to get something in next week like Soinc x Shadow Generations then do a very early (for me anyway) GOTY list. I want to float something in my list and see if y'all pick up what I'm putting down. Oh and me and the kid are doing Sonic 3 tonight, she is so hyped for Shadow it's hilarious
