Games added: V Rising (pc)

Last week: Finished Carrion, played Cyberpunk 2077 & V Rising

This week: Same

Carrion was really fun, a very unique take on a sidesplorer. For anyone not familiar with it, you are a tentacle blob monster trying to escape a research facility, and eating everyone you come across in the process. I'd like to say it eventually gets old eating people, but it really doesn't. ;)

Still chipping away in Cyberpunk, still enjoying that one. Caught a really good deal on V Rising, so bought 2 copies, one for myself & one for the missus. It will probably be our play-together game for a bit, pretty fun so far.

Finished: Nothing

Now Playing: The Stanley Parable, Grim Fandango Remastered

Added to Backlog: The Stanley Parable

Current Backlog: 43 games

I have a little time between now and the next Like a Dragon game, so I am trying to clear out some quicker games. Grim Fandango is pretty fun and humorous - the developer commentary is quite interesting at times.

Finished: nothing

Added to backlog: nothing

Current backlog: 45

My time with UYA came to an abrupt end because of controller issues. I have two for my PS3. One of them died completely... no charge, no nothing. I was using the other and it started wigging out at random times. I thought at first it was something I was doing in the game, maybe hitting a first-person view and messing things up that way. But then it happened while I was in the PlayStation Store, so I knew it wasn't that. I tried to fight through it, but it kept happening in one fairly tough section and I was losing my mind. Game over man. I will probably pick up a cheap PS3 controller at some point, but I put the PS3 away for now.

I got out the PS4 and fired up a few games... Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, which looked horrific on my big TV; Wreckfest, which had none of the fun of the FlatOut games; one or two others. Nothing clicked.

Hopefully something will land soon. Failing that, here's hoping I win enough money in my fantasy hockey playoffs to get that PS5. :P (Alternatively, a decent job might do the trick.)

Well, I didn't think this through because it kind of snuck up on me. I got the platinum in The Stanley Parable and in Grim Fandango Remastered, bringing my total to 99. With a month to go until Like a Dragon: pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, I was hoping to knock out some more games from the backlog. But that would be a fun title to have as platinum 100 (though most of the Yakuza games are very difficult to platinum, so it wouldn't be guaranteed). I guess I'll have to look at what else I have that would be milestone-worthy...or I could just stop being picky about it.

EDIT:

The games I think I can get a platinum in over the next month are:
- Days Gone
- LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4
- Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
- Octopath Traveler II
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy
- Watch Dogs 2 (pending MP availability confirmation)

Octopath II is worthy of being the Hundo Plat, but it might feel too similar to the DQ3 remake to play this month.

Days Gone is very memorable for me. Dang shame we'll probably never get a sequel.

Thanks for the input. I may just stick with my plan to plow through some quicker games and go the Ace Attorney route. But I will consider Days Gone as an option.

The other milestone platinums I have are:
1st - Heavy Rain
10th - inFAMOUS 2
20th - Sleeping Dogs
25th - Need for Speed: Most Wanted
30th - Katamari Forever
40th - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist
50th - God of War: Ascension
60th - South Park: The Fractured But Whole
70th - Detroit: Become Human
75th - Bugsnax
80th - Immortals: Fenyx Rising
90th - Tchia

A good mix of genres, but it doesn't appear I was saving any games for those moments previously.
