Any improvements in your situation, Phase? Sorry for what you're going through.
Played recently: Dragon Quest Builders 2
Finished: DQB2
Added to backlog: nothing
Current backlog: 43
I wrapped up DQB2 with the platinum and everything else I could do, including getting all 90 mini-medals. Very enjoyable game that, as I said before, hit me just right as an unemployed old man seeking some semblance of productivity.
I think I'll take another swing at Hades next. I got stuck on something very early on during my first attempt... hopefully whatever that was won't be an impediment this time.
Hope you gentlemen had a great Thanksgiving.

Played: Izzy. Friend. Comrade. I am trying so goddamn hard to advance in SMT3 and it won't let me! Now when I go to play it on steam deck, it demands a connection. On the subway. Which is just about the only time I get to play. It's been like this a couple weeks too. But imma keep trying.
The universe conspires against you.
I've not gamed too much over the past couple days, but I finished the main campaign of Withering Rooms. There are still a few things I want to do before "making a decision" that was offered after completing the final boss. I'm pretty sure I'll check out newgame+ as well to see what that's all about. Really great game with a very distinct personality, despite the clear inspirations.

Games added: Tomba! Remastered
Last week: Finished Maquette, played Vampire Survivors: Castlevania, Unicorn Overlord, and started Nine Sols last night
This week: Probably the same?
Nine Sols is a *very* pretty sidesplorer that came out earlier this year - I've had my eye on it since I first heard about it. Very early in, but very fun so far. I put it on "story" difficulty (only 2 options, other one was "normal") because I'm in this type of game for the exploration more than beating my head against tough combat. Seems pretty well balanced for my old man reflexes so far.
Maquette was just bad. The puzzles were tedious, and towards the very end I was just looking up solutions to be done with it. Good thing too, because one or two of the late-game puzzles weren't just "think outside the box", they were actively trying to trick you by giving you elements that weren't used and completely hiding an area that you had no way of knowing existed, let alone that you were supposed to be trying to get there. And your reward for solving these puzzles was more of the insipid, stupid, pointless story. Broad-strokes, it's telling the story of a relationship - how it begins and how it ends. Which *could* be interesting, if done right. This wasn't. Very badly written, they get unhappy & have a big fight about absolutely nothing out of nowhere and then *boom* they're split up and yet it keeps dragging on while your character keeps droning on & on about how horrible life is. Man, I'll tell ya - youth really IS wasted on the young. Though I don't believe all young people are this insipid. Just don't play this game.

A little, but not a lot. It’s just going to take more time, hopefully I’ll start gaming again soon because I miss it. I appreciate the concern that you and everyone else here has been showing me.

Hey all. Old man beat DQB2 before me and got the plat, that's awesome! I really do like that game, it's extremely chill. I should get back to it sooner than later.
Played: Hades. That's it. Just Hades. I like it. I just got to Hades for the first time last night. Now I want to beat him. I feel like this is one of those 'Your Princess is in another castle' bits though. Like beating Hades just means he's going to continue finding reasons to not let you out because he's just a dick. But we'll see...
Bought: Humble Bundle Sid Meier & Civilization, Humble Bundle Telltale, SNK Pocket Color Collection 1&2, Samurai Shodown & Collection, SNK vs Capcom Pocket Color, God Eater Trilogy, Thunderful Trilogy, SNK 40th Anniversary JUST for Crystalis, Pillars of Eternity 1&2 Complete, The Yakuza Collection (0-6) all for Steam Deck. What, SNK had like 85% off on Steam.
Beat: Nothing
This week: I missed out on Shadow x Sonic Generations because I plum forgot. Oh well, Xmas is coming. I also have a ton of games from Humble Choice I keep forgetting about. I got Cassette Beasts last month. I really want to try that one. Now that I have Pillars of Eternity, I really want to figure out what CRPG I want to get into first on the Steam Deck. That was the last one that really interested me that I don't own now. I might try to get to one of those this weekend...

Well, a little improvement is better than none. I can imagine how much you miss gaming. I know how passionate you have been for this hobby over the years. Hopefully you'll find yourself in a spot where you can fully enjoy it again soon.

You know, I've been subscribed to Humble Bundle (Choice) for years, and if I only had access to those games, it would keep me busy endlessly, not to mention all the other games I buy on sales and whatnot - from Humble and elsewhere. Even if there are some games in some bundles that aren't my cup of tea, it has almost without exception been worth it (for me) every month. I think I've only skipped once or twice since I joined in 2017. Surely one of the best values in gaming for the PC (Steam Deck) gamer.
And...I'll ask again - Did you abandon your "play a whole series" idea? At least let the curious (only me, ha?) know.

No way fam, I would love to do the game club idea! Can we shoot for the new year? Sorry, been crazy busy this year.
Also, just beat Hades!...but not really? I don't know. The shield turned out to be clutch. I thought I was a spear team for life but nope. Imma probably move on to something else for the moment. Maybe. It's a really addictive little loop and Hades always has smack to talk. They done good with this one considering I generally dislike roguelikes.

You really should abandon the idea of living a "real" life.
