Re: Izzy's 2025
That one was much-hyped as a PS2 hidden gem. I think I played the demo (or maybe I grabbed the actual game?) but it didn't click with me for whatever reason.

Re: Izzy's 2025
The perspective is of an isometric, top-down view, which was the biggest fundamental difference in this and its muse. It worked fine in terms of the overall look; however, some of the drama of opening a new door is lost here since you can see over walls. That tension is a big part of the fun of Res...

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 439: 5/30/26: June Edition
The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Control Resonant all release in Sept. I'm saving my MS rewards for Dawnwalker (vampire open world RPG from one of the main devs who worked on Witcher 3), and I'll wait on the other 2 for a price drop. Still, nasty month - those are just the 3...

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 439: 5/30/26: June Edition
argyle, very glad you're digging CD so much. I'm pretty sure I'll feel the same whenever I get to it. Are you grinding levels or classes or both? Levels. Just wanted to get everyone in the 40s, which didn't take long. (I had changed some classes a while back.) I beat what I think was the final boss ...

Yeah, I would imagine so. Do you ever fire up the old Vita anymore? Vita means life. :P I would if the battery didn't crap out on me. It only works now if it's plugged in, which kind of defeats the purpose of a mobile device. :( That trailer is something. Those devs made their game with you in mind...

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 439: 5/30/26: June Edition
Played recently: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Finished: nothing Added to backlog: Unicorn Overlord I'm nearing the end of DQ3... doing some grinding before the last boss. It's a great game, no doubt! But I don't think I'm going to go for plat. I haven't been using a guide so I have no clue which mi...

Re: Izzy's 2025
Thanks for the word on that one. I've been tempted a few times in PSN sales, based on the positive reviews/recommendations I've seen, but it doesn't sound like my cup of tea.

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 438: 5/23/26: 007 First Light Edition
In addition to some oddities outside the mainstream, I have gone back to an oldie (relatively speaking) but goodie in Spelunky. I've put about 30 hours into it since starting it back up after a decade. Still as fun as it always was, and still as punishing. But it's so easy to jump in and have a qui...
